Prestons is part of a mixed-use development designed to be a sustainable urban village that will eventually become home to more than 8,000 residents spread over 2,300 houses.
Sections within Prestons have now sold out.
The Prestons Plan change was created by way of a joint venture between Ngāi Tahu Property, CDL Land New Zealand Ltd and Foodstuffs South Island Ltd.
Nestled beside the suburb of Burwood and next to Waitikiri and Bottle Lake Golf Courses, Prestons is ideally located to connect to public transport, Christchurch City and the recreational area of Bottle Lake Forest.
The scale of the Prestons masterplan is one of the largest ever seen in Christchurch. While conveniently located close to existing services in the wider community, the masterplan envisages the development of a thriving retail area, primary school and open green-space park. The retail area includes a supermarket and smaller specialty shops, including cafes and restaurants. New World Prestons opened 1 February 2018.
