There has been a strong early interest in the new industrial development at Wilmers Road, Hornby, as the first stage comes on to the market.
While working from home, the Ngāi Tahu Property team has been able to continue to work remotely with sole agents CBRE. With site works completed prior to the current COVID-19 measures, the first nine lots in our new industrial development at Wilmers Road, Hornby are now being listed.
Ngāi Tahu Property development team manager Dean Christie says the five-hectare development features a number of lot sizes ranging from about 800 square metres to more than 4,000 square metres. The development will be released in three stages. Site clearance has been completed and titles are expected to be available in October 2020*.
“This new development is in the heart of the Hornby industrial area and is ideal for Christchurch’s small- to medium-sized enterprises.”
“This location will suit a range of businesses, including construction, warehousing, manufacturing, logistics support, storage and vehicle services.”
Already zoned for industrial development and with a subdivision consent and masterplan in place, work on roading and infrastructure is set to commence.
He says with the high level of interest shown through the initial off-market campaign seeing several sites under contract, interested businesses should get in touch with sole agents CBRE.
South Island development general manager Scott McCulloch says all three of Ngāi Tahu Property’s Ahumahi developments offer easy access to the Southern Motorway, rail infrastructure and linkages to Lyttleton Port of Christchurch and Christchurch International Airport.
Ngāi Tahu Property’s analysis indicates strong industrial demand across a range of sectors in Rolleston and Hornby.
“Our market research indicates strong continued demand for industrial land in Christchurch across a number of sectors as businesses seek more efficient freight and logistics operations.”
“Wilmers Road is ideally located alongside the key transport infrastructure of Te Waipounamu.”
“The Wilmers Road site also complements our other Hornby site, a larger-format development off Shands Road, which will likely be on the market from late 2021.”
“Our company was founded on delivering high-quality industrial solutions to suit the full range of industrial firms in Canterbury and beyond. Our recent investments mean once again we are major stakeholders in the region’s industrial sector.”
“As an iwi-owned intergenerational investor, Ngāi Tahu Property can provide vacant lots, turn-key design-build sales, or design-build-lease options as required.
