Prestons sub-division update - January 2016

Loading...

Kia ora,

Welcome to 2016, we thought with the sub-division progressing so fast it would be a great time to give you an update.

General Subdivision Update

Two small blocks of land within the subdivision have recently been re-surveyed to create more Density B sections for the market.  The first of these is located at the intersection of Te Rito Street and Te Whenua Crescent adjoining the central park and offers a row of 5 RoW lots with westerly views over the park – lot sizes range 465 – 480 m2.  The second block is within a short cul-de-sac off the south side of Kerēme St just east of the new Primary school with lot sizes of 450 – 500 m2.  All sections are available for purchase now

Plans have also been drawn up for the last ‘north side’ stage comprising 30 – 35 lots east of Te Rito St – between the Showhomes and the Waitikiri Golf Course.  Details should be finalised over the next 2 months following which the sections will be offered for sale.

Contact John Almao at the Prestons the Sales Office for all details.

The community playground located within the Harakeke (stage 2) neighbourhood will be completed during the 1st quarter of 2016. Korowai Park in Stage 1 is already complete and the stage 3 park is progressing nicely. All hard landscaping is expected to be finished by the end of March with the soft landscaping looking to be complete by April 2016.

Finally, the parking to the Sales Office has recently changed. The entrance to our onsite car park is now just north of the Sales Office on Te Rito Street.

Marshlands School

Marshlands school will open their doors for the first time on 3 February 2016, with their official opening ceremony to be held on 12 February 2016. The maximum roll for stage one is 400 pupils and the schools roll is currently sitting at 285. Stage two will begin in February 2016  and will bring capacity up to 500, ultimately the school will eventually be able to cater for 650 pupils.

Make sure you get your enrolments for 2016 in now! You can visit their website for further information on www.marshland.school.nz

We have been advised that the road upgrade at the entrance of the subdivision will not be completed before the Marshlands school opens. Temporary measures are being put in place to assist pedestrian traffic to and from the school along Prestons Road and the civil works contractor is working hard to complete this work as soon as possible.

Road Upgrades

For families walking/cycling from the east side (Waitikiri, The Limes, Burwood)

There will be no footpath on the North side of Prestons Rd from Waitakiri. It is suggested that the children use the designated crossing point near the entrance to Alpine View Lifestyle Village. There will be public signage to direct you where to cross. It is also planned that escorts will help school children cross safely in this area, and back to the North side of the footpath at Te Korari Street. The escorts will be available between 8:30am - 9:15am & 2:45pm - 3:30pm

For families coming from the North, South or West side (Marshland)

Lower Styx Rd will not yet be open to access the school.  Prestons Rd continues to be blocked to east bound traffic. It is suggested you take Mairehau Rd as an alternative. You will follow the one way traffic into Prestons Rd then turn right into Te Rito St, Turn left into Korowai St, to access Te Korari St (where the school is situated) continuing south on Te Korari St to exit back onto Prestons Rd.

If you plan to walk or cycle from this direction, there is a temporary footpath along the northern side of Prestons Road between Marshland Road and the School that will be provided for School traffic only. (Cyclists will need to dismount and walk their bikes). It will lead to the rear of the school site. Walking into the school this way will be through a grassed area leading to the netball courts, so it may not be the best option if wet.
