Wigram Skies is an exciting community built on the site of the former Wigram Aerodrome. In 1997 Ngāi Tahu Property purchased the Wigram Aerodrome site with the long term view of subdividing the land and creating a sustainable, masterplanned community
Wigram’s history remains an integral part of the community and is remembered in the Air Force Museum, historic buildings and street names.
While conveniently located close to existing amenities, the Wigram Skies’ masterplan includes Wigram Primary School, Te Piki Kahu, which opened in 2019.
Wigram Skies’ town centre, The Landing, is located at the heart of the development and provides a convenient, modern and thoughtfully designed retail and mixed use space for Wigram Skies residents and greater south west Christchurch.
The Landing has a range of accessible retail stores, offices and community services developed within a high street style environment. The town centre currently includes a New World supermarket, cafés and restaurants, a pharmacy, and childcare facilities. A new cinema, the Silky Otter, opened in 2021.
The development also has its own parks and reserves including Te Kāhu sports park, which boasts a children’s playground and three sports pitches within walking distance of all residences.
Wigram Skies is now fully sold out.
