Conveniently located on the main arterial routes of Blenheim Road and Whiteleigh Avenue, Tower Junction underwent a redevelopment in 2019 creating new retail opportunities in the Addington area.
Development was underway for a year and included two new buildings accommodating retail, food and beverage tenants.
Having worked closely with Matapopore, a charitable trust incepted after the quakes to ensure mana whenua values and the voice of Ngāi Tūāhuriri and Ngāi Tahu are included in the rebuild, has resulted in markers of Ngāi Tahu culture being included in the development. The work of Fayne Robinson, a Ngāi Tahu master carver, and other Māori artists are incorporated on site.
First opened in 2005, Tower Junction is typically described as Christchurch’s premier large format retail destination, an integrated retail shopping complex which has been developed in stages.
Tower Junction has a strong range of national and international retail tenants which consistently lead their respective groups in sales turnover.
